Make A Pikachu Costume

,

Pok mon -- a pop icon for both kids and adults -- has appeared as a giant balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and on the cover of "Time" magazine. Other events, like Halloween and "cosplay" parties, are occasions for displaying some Pok mon fanaticism. Among the fan favorite Pok mon characters, Pikachu is one of the easiest to turn into a costume with simple household items.

Instructions

1. Cut two oval strips from the brown felt. Glue or pin the brown oval felt strips to the back of a yellow sweatshirt.

2. Cut a lightning bolt shape out of the yellow felt. Using the brown felt, cut another lightning bolt shape one-fourth the size of the yellow lightning belt. Glue or pin the brown lightning bolt felt on top of the yellow lightning bolt felt. Pin the lightning bolts to the sweatshirt.

3. Cut a hole in a pillowcase large enough to fit your face through. Bunch the corners of the pillowcase to resemble ears and tie them with yellow yarn. Cut out two small triangle shapes from the black felt. Glue the black felt to the pillowcase "ears."

4. Paint circles on each cheek with red lipstick or face paint.
