Prom is a special time for high school kids. It is often the first formal dance for students and one of the last times seniors will celebrate with their classmates before graduation. When thoughts of prepping for prom come up, it is usually all about hairstyle and prom dresses-but what about the guys? Young men need to be prepared for this special night from beginning to end.
Transportation
If your funds allow, rent a limo for prom night; the use of a limo emphasizes the special occasion. You can get one for a few hours and share the ride with a few other couples to cut down on the cost. That will make the evening even more entertaining and special. If this is out of your price range, rent a nice car or borrow a nice car from a friend or your parents. If you do not rent the transportation, make sure that you thoroughly clean the car before the big night.
Before Prom
Rent a tuxedo or wear a formal, dark suit. Check with your date regarding the color of her dress. Make a statement by coordinating the accessories for your suit or tux and get her a corsage to match as well. If you are going to dinner as part of prom night, make a reservation and pre-plan a cute arrangement or gift to be set up at the table for your date, upon your arrival.
Prom
Pictures are a traditional part of prom night, but bring your own camera to get candid shots of your friends and your date. It will make a really cute keepsake after prom and later in life. These are great pictures to submit to be included in the yearbook, as well. Make sure you compliment your date throughout the night; this will make her feel extraordinary and encourage her feelings of affection for you.
After Prom
Let the good times continue after prom with a fun outing. Go to a bowling alley for a game of bowling or some pool with friends. If you don't want to go out in your formal wear, head to a friend's house for a late movie and some popcorn and soda or turn on the radio and dance without the stress of the dance floor and all those extra eyes watching.
