Invert A Belt Sander

,

Belt sanders can be used as stationary sanders. They make it easy to hand-sand objects when you need to use both hands when sanding thin strips of molding, small parts for toys or even composite things like gems and wood buttons. They work exactly the same as big floor-standing belt sanders, except they are mounted to your worktable. You can install and remove an inverted belt sander in minutes and store it under the table or leave it mounted for easy access

Instructions

1. Turn the sander upside down on a worktable as near the edge as possible.

2. Open the jaws of a hand clamp and hook one jaw underneath the edge of the table with the wood handle of the clamp pointing down. Place the other jaw inside the handle where you would normally place your hand. Tighten the clamp slightly.

3. Open another clamp, and place one jaw underneath the edge of the table. Place the other jaw on the inside of the protruding knob on the belt sander. Tighten the clamp slightly.

4. Tighten both clamps at the same time until the sander is solid and locked down to the table. If the sander tips in one direction, tighten the opposite clamp so that the sander stays flat on the table.

5. Plug in the sander. Push the trigger and trigger lock to use the sander.
