Use men's shirts to make shirtdresses and other menswear-inspired fashions.
Men's button-down shirts and T-shirts are comfortable, classic and casual. For these reasons, men's shirts inspire women's apparel. But there's no need to spend money on a new fitted flannel plaid shirt or dress when you can create the same look using shirts bought from the thrift store. Here are some options for altering and wearing men's shirts to create a more feminine look.
Instructions
1. Wear a feminine cardigan unbuttoned over a men's T-shirt or tank, paired with leggings or skinny jeans and feminine footwear. This style works best if the men's shirt is close to your size.
2. Wear a men's long-sleeved shirt unbuttoned over a fitted, feminine tank or T-shirt. This style works with any size men's shirt.
3. Tuck a man's long-sleeved shirt into a pair of high-waisted jeans or a high-waisted skirt.
4. Wear a baggy men's T-shirt or button-down shirt as a mini-dress. Put the shirt on over a pair of leggings, opaque tights or skinny jeans, and cinch the waist with a large belt. This style only works if the shirt falls to your thigh.
