Dress codes apply to certain distinguished affairs or professionals and entertainers. Many dress codes recommend wearing white gloves. For some, it seems as if the show couldn't go on without white gloves like for a magician, a clown or an opera singer. White gloves add a touch of class tor any occasion. Here are some suggestions and scenarios that could make the idea of wearing white gloves seem like a good fit.

1. Get ready for a fancy evening dinner at the Royal Palace. If you're in with this crowd they'll expect nothing less. Here, formalwear and white gloves go hand and hand.


2. Get your marching orders. March in the parade as a band member or at any formal ceremony such as with the Army, Navy, Airforce or Marines and you'll be wearing white gloves with your uniform.


3. Hold precious gems and jewels. Jewelers wear white gloves when working with fine stones to protect them, hold onto them more easily and keep marks off of them.


4. Watch the beautiful bride prance down the aisle in her white satin gloves. If you're not the one getting married maybe you're the flower girl or the ring bearer. Little white gloves with a small cuff look adorable with their outfits.


5. Inspection and quality and control workers often need to wear white gloves. Many of these jobs must be sanitary at all times and would be in violation of code if they didn't wear their gloves. Even the food industry has certain positions that require powder-free white gloves to be worn.


6. Dress up in costume. The Easter Bunny, Cat in the Hat and Santa all wear white gloves. So does Cinderalla at the ball, Alice in Wonderland, a Pixie Fairy, Buzz Lightyear, Star Wars Storm Troopers, a Barbie Bride and Uncle Sam. Oh, and don't forget Michael Jackson.


7. Be fashionable. Wear white leather driving gloves to drive your luxury cars. Tend to the garden wearing white goat skin garden gloves. Sip tea with an English friend wearing the classic crocheted white gloves. Wear white cashmere gloves to match your scarf on a cold winter day.
