A long skinny scarf is a versatile fashion accessory. Quickly add color and texture to any outfit from casual to formal by wearing a long skinny scarf around the neck or waist, in your hair or in place of jewelry.
Instructions
1. Select a long skinny scarf that works with your outfit. Choose complementary colors that match or contrast.
2. Try wearing a long skinny scarf around your wrist in a bracelet look. Wrap the scarf all the way around your wrist to form a two-to-three inch band. Tuck the end of the scarf on the underside of your wrist.
3. Use a long skinny scarf in your hair. Tie the scarf around a ponytail. Separate the tails and wrap in opposite directions around the ponytail, tying them together again at the end of your hair. Then let the rest of the scarf fall down your back. You can weave the scarf through the ponytail, too.
4. Make a quick accent by wearing the long skinny scarf around the neck in a pull-through. Double the scarf. Put it around the back of your neck. Insert both open ends through the loop created by the fold and pull through.
5. Create the look of a tie by hanging the scarf around your neck with the ends hanging in front. Tie a knot of any kind at the neck, midway down the torso or even at the bottom.
6. Try wearing the long skinny scarf as a belt. Thread through belt loops and tie on one side.
