Wigs are available in natural colors or neon colors for making a statement.
Wigs aren't a product where one size fits all, due to the shape of your head. Wigs that are too tight can give you a headache. A loose wig can fall off or slide in one direction at the most inopportune time, causing you embarrassment. Taking the proper measurements of your head allows you to choose a wig that fits. Putting a wig on correctly provides you with a new hairstyle that's easy to keep up.
Instructions
1. Set the tip of a cloth measuring tape at the front center of your forehead on your hair line. Wrap the measuring tape down around your hairline on one side, across your back hairline and up your hairline on the other side to meet the measuring tape in the center of your forehead. Write the measurement down as your hairline size.
2. Align the tip of a cloth measuring tape at the center of your front hairline. Stretch the tape over the top of your head to your hairline in the center back of your head. Record this as the crown measurement.
3. Place a cloth measuring tape tip in front of the top of one ear at your hairline. Stretch the tape over your head to the same position on the opposite side of your head. Record this as the ear-to-ear measurement.
4. Compare your measurements to the wig manufacturer's size chart to choose a wig that will fit you properly.
5. Twist your hair into a pony tail at the nape of your neck and pull it to the top of your head, laying the hair as flat as possible. Use bobby pins to hold your hair in this position.
6. Lay the wig on a table in front of you. Pick the wig up with one hand on each side of the label sewn in the center back of the wig. Place the label on the nape of your neck and extend the wig to your front hairline. Tuck in any excess hair protruding on the sides and front of the wig.
7. Shake your head gently to be certain the wig is stable. If the wig moves, tighten the hook and loop closures inside the back of the wig to stabilize it.
