Types Of Fedora Hats

,

The main features of a fedora hat are the distinctive front pinch and the wide, loose rim. Fedoras became known as gangster hats and were prominent during the 1930s and 1940s. Recently, the Fedora and another similar hat style, known as the trilby, have made a comeback in fashion among the younger generation.

Wool Fedoras

The classic wool Fedora, which comes in a variety of solid colors, but is most popular in black, brown and grey is a great accompaniment to a suit or long winter coat.

Straw Fedoras

The straw fedora hat is a common look for travelers in Central and South America. Although they can come in any color, straw fedoras are mostly found in the natural color of the straw.

Canvas Fedora

The canvas fedora is both durable and classic looking and can come in solid colors as well as plaid and pinstripe.

Tweed Twill Fedora

The tweed twill fedora is similar to herringbone and provides a greater texture to the hat than most other Fedora styles. It typically comes in tones of blacks, grays, browns and whites.

Trilby Hat

The Trilby Hat is similar to the fedora because of its soft, deep creasing texture. The difference is that the brim on the Trilby is much shorter than that of the Fedora. You can find Trilby hats in straw, canvas, wool and wool tweed.
