Hydrate Dry Skin Easily

,

say hello to hydration!

Dry skin may cause uncomfortable itching and could be symptomatic of a skin-related medical problem. However, high temperatures, low humidity, bodily dehydration and harsh fabrics or soaps will have a negative effect on your skin's moisture levels. Adjusting your grooming and nutritional intake habits will help ease common dry skin issues.

Instructions

1. Consume at least eight 8-oz. glasses of water per day. Limit the consumption of fluids that have diuretic properties, such as coffee and alcohol.

2. Eat foods that contain anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidant rich foods include tomatoes, nuts, beans and green leafy vegetables. Consider reducing red meat intake in favor of fish.

3. Replace your existing soaps or body wash products in favor of mild alternatives, specifically designed for moisturizing skin. Avoid using harsh soaps that dry the skin.

4. Avoid taking hot showers or baths lasting longer than 15-minutes, and reduce the water temperature you usually use.

5. Apply moisturizing lotion or baby oil immediately after bathing or showering. Baby oil and moisturizing lotion will provide a suitable barrier, designed to retain skin moisture. Reapply the moisturizer several times a day, as needed.
