Get Fitted For Men'S Dress Shirts
To determine the type and appropriate fit of a men's dress shirt, you must make certain style decisions and measurements. Learn what style and cut of dress shirt is appropriate, depending on the look you are going for. Determine what measurements need to be made for a dress shirt to fit properly. If the appropriate steps are taken to fit your dress shirt correctly, you will be stylish while staying comfortable.
Instructions
1. Determine the type of dress shirt you are looking for by choosing a cut that works for your body type. A tailored-fit shirt is more form fitting, while a standard fit has a much looser feel. Athletic style shirts generally have a full chest and tapered waist.
2. Choose a spread collar, which has slightly bigger lapels, or a straight or point collar, which has a more narrow and conservative fit. Pin collars are meant to be worn with a collar pin, while a tab collar has a tab attached to the shirt to hold a necktie in place. For a more casual look, try a banded collar; it doesn't fold down and is not meant to be worn with a necktie.
3. Determine your neck size with a measuring tape to allow a dress shirt to fit properly when worn with or without a necktie. Your shirt collar should fit snugly but be comfortable enough to fit two fingers inside.
4. Measure your chest with a measuring tape to determine the right size and style of your dress shirt. Your shirt should be slightly form fitting in the chest, but not so tight that it stretches and is uncomfortable.
5. Measure the length of your arms with a measuring tape to ensure that your sleeves are the appropriate size. As a general guideline, sleeves should fall about 1" below your wrist bone, and you should see about 1/4" inch of your shirtsleeves underneath a jacket.

Suit Vs Tuxedo
Only when an invitation says "black tie optional" does a gentleman have the choice between a tuxedo and a suit. Even then, there are rules of etiquette and style that the gentleman might use to make his choice.
Definition
Etiquette maven Emily Post describes "black tie optional" as either a tuxedo with a pleated or piqué shirt and black bow tie, or a "dark suit, white shirt and conservative tie." "Black tie optional" does not allow for lighter suits, sport coats or no necktie.
Etiquette
Even if an invitation says "black tie optional," the host or hostess intends the affair to be elegant. A tuxedo is more respectful of the host's intent.
Weddings
A gentleman who is invited to a wedding should opt for the tuxedo, unless he is a member of the wedding party, in which case he should coordinate with the other members.
Body Type
The tuxedo is designed to flatter any body type. A hefty gentleman will look more lean, the lean gentleman more substantial.
Black vs. Brown
Stick with black, blue or gray suits, without patterns if possible. Brown, green and earth tones are more casual.

Suit Guidelines For Short Men
Short men can use techniques to appear taller when wearing suits.
Men of all shapes and sizes need to pay attention to their body type to ensure suits fit their best. Short men have their own set of challenges, mainly revolving around ways to minimize their perceived height disadvantage. However, many of the suit-wearing rules observed by shorter men are beneficial for males of all body types.
Proper Fit
Shorter men should do everything possible to ensure the cut of suits -- including shirts -- is as closely fitted as possible. Slouchy or boxy suits accentuate all the wrong things. Slim-fitting shirts and suits vertically streamline the appearance of the wearer, adding a look of confidence while minimizing the focus on physical stature. Shorter men may have to use tailors as frequently as tall men in order to strike the right balance between body fit, sleeve length and inseam.
Using Patterns Wisely
Suit patterns can alter the physical appearance of the wearer, making him look shorter, wider or taller than he actually is. Shorter men should take advantage of vertical stripes, known for their slimming effect and ability to draw the eye up instead of across. The slimmer the stripe, the better. It's a good move for these men to avoid checked patterns that square off their appearance. Shirts with downward-facing collar points have a similar effect when contrasted with a spread collar.
Keep It Simple
Monochromatic color schemes streamline a shorter man's look, eliminating the dividing effect that a bright contrasting shirt, for example, has under a suit jacket. Navy suits with a complementary blue or blue pinstripe work well. Other darker colors have a similar effect, like charcoal or black for evening wear. In scenarios where lighter and darker colors are worn together, wearing the lighter trouser as opposed to jacket draws the eye up instead of down the wearer. Similarly, shorter men can wear attention-grabbing details such as pocket squares and brighter ties, causing people to continue this upward-oriented look.
All About Proportion
In addition to wearing slim-fitting suits, other details and accessories should be similarly proportioned. Slimmer ties, showing less cuff beneath a jacket sleeve and smaller lapels are all wise choices for shorter men. In general, matching the width of the tie to the lapel is a smart fashion move regardless, but for shorter men the look shows confidence by purposefully choosing articles that match body type. Trousers should have only one break -- at the top of the shoe. By the way, shoes should never have squared toes or other clunky features.

Style Hair Like Craig David
Style Hair Like Craig David
English R&B singer, Craig David burst onto the scene with his smash debut album, "Born to Do It" which spawned four Top 10 singles and made him a star in the UK as well as across the pond. Craig David has also become a style icon in the process for many men who aspire to get his look of cool confidence.
Instructions
1. Keep your hair short at the back and sides and longer on the top. Craig David's hair is slightly longer on the top, where his natural curls add unexpected texture and volume to an otherwise short style.
2. Cut your hair as short as possible if it isn't naturally curly like Craig's lovely locks. If your hair is stick straight, then keep it buzzed short (but not completely bald) to look closer to Craig's cut.
3. Create angles on the sides. Craig's hairline is angled, beginning at his temple in a straight line towards his face and then angling back toward his head where it meets with the hairline at his forehead. The hair at his forehead runs straight across.
4. Use Gel-Wax. A styling product such as Gel-Wax gives your hair body, fullness and shine as well as a loose hold that allows you to sculpt your hair the way you want.
5. Top off your hairstyle with a knitted cap. Even though he has one of the most sought-after hairstyles in music, Craig still covers it up occasionally with a knitted cap pulled down just above his eyebrows.
6. Accent your hairstyle with a cool goatee. Craig sometimes sports a hint of a five o'clock shadow, or a very thin goatee that follows the angles of his jaw line.

Get Collar Stains Out Of Men'S Dress Shirts
Men's dress shirts seem destined to acquire collar stains. These stains are smelly, ugly and can compromise the strength of the fabric. Collar stains are among the most difficult to remove. However, using simple and safe products already in your home can send that nasty ring around the collar packing with little effort on your part.
Instructions
1. Soak the collar stain before laundering the dress shirt by pouring undiluted distilled white vinegar directly onto the stain. Allow it to set for 15 to 20 minutes.
2. Launder the dress shirt using cold water. Any hint of a stain that may remain on the collar will be permanently set if heat is applied. Remove the damp shirt from the washer.
3. Pour 4 tbsp. of baking soda into a small mixing bowl. Add enough white vinegar to create a thick paste.
4. Apply the paste to the collar of the dress shirt, whether you can see any remaining stain or not. Rub the paste into the fabric of the garment, and let it set for 15 to 20 minutes.
5. Launder the dress shirt with cold water. The collar stain should be completely gone.

Shorten Trousers
Shorten Trousers
Whether it is men's or women's trousers, few of us are a perfect "off-the-rack" size. It can be expensive to have them altered every time you purchase a new pair of trousers. Shortening your own trousers can be done easily with just basic sewing skills. A second person is helpful to help you mark that first measurement at the hem level, while you have them on.
Instructions
1. Put the trousers on. If you normally wear a belt with them, put it on. Also, slip on the shoes you usually wear with the trousers. Standing erect, have another person mark the trousers, with a straight pin, where the hem should be on each bottom leg. Remove the trousers.
2. Measure and mark where you will put the hem, plus an additional 1 inch, around both bottom trouser legs. Cut the excess fabric off.
3. Sew a zigzag stitch (or serge stitch) around the edge of each bottom trouser leg, using matching thread.
4. Pin the hem at 1 inch to match the marked hem from Step 1, using straight pins.
5. Sew close to the edge of the zigzag stitch, with matching thread, for casual trousers, such as jeans. For dressier trousers, hand sew the hem on each leg with a slip stitch. Press the new hem with your iron to make a crease.

Tie An Oldfashioned Crossover Bow Tie
Looking dapper
The bow tie has been much maligned over the years. Viewed as a status symbol by some; an abomination by others. From formal black tie events to "Revenge of the Nerds," bow ties truly possess a Jekyll and Hyde personality. Whether dressing to the nines or simply adding a flamboyant touch to your favorite collared shirt, wearing a bow tie is sure to draw attention. There are numerous clip-on styles available, but tying your own adds extra flare and appeal.
Instructions
1. Adjust the size of the bow tie by placing the hook into the slot that matches your neck size.
2. Flip up your collar. Drape the bow tie around your neck with one side about 1 1/2 inches longer than the other. The bottom of the short side should line up with the narrow portion of the hourglass shape of the long side.
3. Cross the long side over the short side, forming an "X." Bring the long end up through the X behind and then over the short end. Pull the ends gently to adjust the tightness of the bow tie. Pinch the X with one hand and hold it.
4. Fold the short end into a half bow. The fold should be at the widest point. Hold the folded half-bow with the center at the middle of the X. Pull the long end up behind and then over the center of the half-bow. Pinch the half-bow in the center to hold it in place. There should be a loop between the half-bow and the band around your neck.
5. Fold the long end at its widest point and feed it through the loop behind the half-bow. Tighten the bow by pulling on the folded portions of the front and back half-bows. Flip your collar down and continue to align and adjust the bow tie until the desired look is achieved.

Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor broke into some Bollywood moves at the Lakme India Fashion Week (LFW) ramp here Saturday, when they walked for designer Kunal Rawal.
Arjun Kapoor, who looked smart in a black kurta pyjama walked the ramp and later danced to the tunes of "Ram Lakhan", and even performed signature dance steps that his paternal uncle Anil Kapoor performed on the original number.
Shahid Kapoor looked handsome in long black jacket, black trousers and a multi-coloured printed T-shirt. While the actor's walk was perfect, he made the designer and Arjun perform some moves with him, while he walked with them towards the end of the show.
The collection was for modern young men. Kunal Rawal displayed an interesting collection featuring eccentric prints and deconstructed silhouettes. The line had a collection of printed shirts and trousers, short-sleeved blazers, jackets and jump suits. There was also a mix of Indian and western formal wear.

Tutorial For A Men'S Dress Shirt
Men's dress shirts are a staple item in corporate culture.
Men's dress shirts come in a variety of colors, textures and fits. Online sites such as shirtsmyway.com allow you to craft your own dress shirt according to your specific desires. When creating a dress shirt keep in mind proper sizing; the sleeves should reach the beginning of your thumb or one inch past the jacket you are wearing. When the shirt seams meet at the shoulder this confirms a proper fit. Exploring shirt customization options will help to further narrow your specifications.
Instructions
1. Click on "Design My Shirt" and select your fabric. If 100 percent cotton is your preference choose a fabric such as Peace Maker, Royal Blue, Fast Track or Hampton 9. The fabrics also vary by yarn count, or the amount of yarn in a given area, ranging from 60 to 100. You may select different fabrics for each part of the shirt or choose a uniform fabric. Update the model and click on "Next Step" to proceed.
2. Select your desired collar, cuff, yoke, back, bottom, placket and pocket. Each option displays a picture for clarification. Check the design selection summary to make sure that your choices fit together aesthetically.
3. Pay attention to detail. Style options such as buttons, buttonholes, loops, collar stays and monogram allow you to personalize your look.
4. Size it up. If you are familiar with your dress shirt size simply look at the collar of a previous dress shirt. For a more accurate measurement, use a tape measure to find your current body measurements. The system will account for shrinkage and appropriate fit, so report your body measurements accurately.
5. Name and finish your shirt design. Either check out or save your design for later use. Your shirt will be shipped free of charge within 15 days of purchase.

Plastic Bags
"Nothing stays under wraps as Perspex bags and shoes dominate the Spring/Summer 2013 runway."
Let's make it clear. That seems to have been the brief given to accessory designers for the upcoming Spring/Summer season, as bright colours and graphic prints on garments were pared down with neutral Perspex accessories.
Cuffs, bags, chunky block heels, even brims of floppy summer hats were treated with a cool plastic finish.
Karl Lagerfield led the way, sending high heels, cute brick bags and impractically fabulous sun hats with wide Perspex brims down the runway. Hussain Chalayan received the same memo, his beekeeper sun hats were given a space-age touch with neon plastic insertions.
Over at Simone Rocha, simple totes were made dainty with pretty broderie-anglaise style edging.
Sunglasses are also an easy way to incorporate the trend, as was proved on the runways of Prada, Celine and new label Sheriff & Cherry. If you're wondering about specific design inspiration, retro styling seems to be the most popular.
A Vogue stand-out accessory has to be the beautiful heels at Charlotte Olympia and Givenchy.
Remember how Cinderella lost her glass slipper? Well, she might have done better if she'd had them made in Perspex, like all the other cool girls.
Micro Trend
"Warrior women are stomping off the S/S '13 ramps and onto the streets."
When Anne Hathaway stepped on to the Les Miserables red carpet wearing Tom Ford gladiator sandals -- especially made in vegan-friendly materials, no less -- the Oscar winner was dropping major hints for a top summer trend.
The fierce gladiator sandal has made a resurgence on the runway (nostalgia for summer 2010?), and designers have even created evening-wear appropriate versions for new converts.
At Alexander Wang, mere wisps of silver leather flashed across the models' toned limbs, creating the most-modern version of the sandal seen yet.
Things were more traditional at Altuzarra and Rabanne, where heavy-duty straps and enough polished hardware drew up a fairly stylish image of potential female warriors preparing for battle.
The trend even managed to convince high heel addict Victoria Beckham to create a line of gladiator flats to accompany her Spring/Summer offerings, glam quotient kept intact with slick black leather climbing all the way past the calf.
Time to make space in that shoe closet...
Mega Trend Through Colour
Mega trend: Through colour
The fash pack are calling this trend ‘through colour’ and it simply means wearing the same colour head to toe. And no, head-to-toe black or navy doesn’t count! It’s more about making a statement through bright hues. Here are some tips on how to get the look.
- Colour me all the way
For a glamorous turn on the trend opt for a long sleeve maxi dress as seen at a Gucci. Or go for a Stella McCartney-inspired sweatshirt and pants combo, if you're looking for something more relaxed.
- Colour me some of the way
Atsu’s sleeveless trench set is another chic way to get the look.

11 New Ways to Wear Saree:
It was the season of the reinvented sari. At Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) A/W 2013 last week, designers from Masaba Gupta to Shivan & Narresh and Arjun Saluja played with the classic ethnic drape, creating new avatars that cut across all age groups.
Even more established designers like Tarun Tahiliani and Manish Malhotra showed off their own versions of the 2013 sari.
- Manish Malhotra: He already popularized the sheer net sari, and this time, the designer layered the black garment over a red metallic ghagra. The resulting contrast of translucence and metallic shine created a rather sensual combo.
- Abraham & Thakore: Working with Banarasi weavers from local sari label Ekaya, the designer duo created a short sari dress, worn close to the body and over a pair of cigarette pants. Perfect for those who find the sari’s voluminous layers unmanageable.
- Masaba Gupta for Satya Paul: Imagine wearing the sari over palazzo pants held up by suspenders. That’s exactly what the new fashion director of the designer sari label introduced for a younger Satya Paul fan, and we’re keen to see this one hit the party circuit.
- Tarun Tahiliani: At his Autumn/Winter ’13-14 showcase, the designer introduced a drape so precise, it felt pre-constructed. Worn with dhoti pants and his signature embroidered gilet, the sari ended mid-thigh with a long pallu almost trailing the floor.
- Anju Modi: One of the most surprising shows of the season, Modi paired military-style jackets and trench coats with elegant saris. Decorated epaulets on her jackets helped secure the pallu crisply in place.
- Anupamaa by Anupama Dayal: She calls it the sarini -- a shorter drape worn over the briefest of shorts. This time crafted in a graphic monochrome pattern, the strict criteria for sarini wearers are toned thighs and abs.
- Dev R Nil: Known for their quirky prints, Dev R Nil also showed off a interesting styling technique by pairing their teal sari with a rose patterned bolero instead of a traditional choli. The final touch -- twirling the pallu around the neck as a scarf, useful for those unpredictable Indian winters.
- Kiran Uttam Ghosh: Polo necks and saris seem an unlikely combination, but Ghosh didn’t let that stop her from teaming a red pleated sari with a grey polo neck choli, secured with a belt. To top that, she completed the transformation with a pleated gold skirt instead of a traditional ghagra.
- Payal Pratap: Last season, Payal teamed saris with gilets and peplum cholis. This season, a rose-patterned drape is worn under a long choli and modernized with a velvet bandhgala.
- Shantanu & Nikhil: The sari took on a distinct 20s vibe, a Lycra drape paired with tights and worn with a turban all in the same silvery shade.
- Shivan & Narresh: They’ve laid claim to the bikini sari, and this time, it was paired with a one-shoulder sleeve attached to the bikini to give it a more modest look.

Tattoo Ideas For A Husband & Wife
Choose the perfect tattoo design for you and your spouse.
True love is permanent, and so are tattoos. Some couples decide they want to demonstrate their love by choosing tattoos that symbolize their unions. There are many concepts to consider and designs from which to choose.
Wedding Rings
Tattooed wedding rings are a popular way for couples to demonstrate their commitment to each other. It is a permanent commitment, not unlike the marriage. It's not like a wedding ring that can get lost (or slipped off.) For that reason, athletes, mechanics and construction workers often consider the tattooed wedding ring.
Some couples choose to get plain wedding bands. Others like some thing a little more elaborate, such as a celtic symbol. Bible verses (For example,"I am my lover's and my lover is mine; he browses among the lilies." Song of Solomon 6:3). Celtic knots, roses on a vine and braids are nice ideas for wedding rings.
Completion
A couple may want more room than a finger to express themselves. One example is a puzzle tattoo. The wife can get a tattoo of an eight piece puzzle about an inch bellow the inside of her elbow. She is missing one piece. Her husband has the missing piece on the same spot on his inner arm. Each person could also get a half of a heart tattoo, so when the two hold their tattoos together, they make a complete heart.
There are some who warn against tattooing anyone but their children's name. They claim it's a curse, and that after the tattoo's ink dries, the relationship is destined to fail. It's something to consider, but ultimately it's your body and your tattoo. You decide if you believe in the curse or not.
Matching Tattoos
Matching tattoos can be fun to pick out because there are really no limits. You want to have something showing that you are in solidarity. A fingertip sized heart tattooed just about anywhere can be very sweet, and discreet. A couple that wants something larger than a finger tip could choose a favorite phrase, or part of their wedding vows. Anniversary dates, favorite animals or symbols are also popular choices.

How to buy style Men's clothing
Stretching Polo Jeans
You can stretch Polo jeans and make them at least an inch bigger.
Ralph Lauren created Polo Fashions, later changing its name to Polo/Ralph Lauren in 1967, starting with a range of men's ties. Lauren soon expanded into all areas of menswear including jeans, eventually creating a line of women's apparel which also included jeans. While Ralph Lauren has created several lines of clothings including Chaps, Lauren, RLX and Black label, the Polo line of clothing is his signature line, possessing garments that showcase classic details of his design style. Polo jeans are exclusively for men and come in a variety of styles. Because they're cotton-based, you can stretch them easily.
Instructions
1. Put on your jeans. Zip them up and button them. Assess which areas you want to stretch the most, such as the butt, waist or thigh areas.
2. Fill a spray bottle with warm water. Spray the areas that you want to stretch until they are very damp.
3. Stretch in the jeans: do sit ups, lunges, touch your toes, do squats, jumping jacks and other lower body movements. The goal is to make movements that will force the jeans to stretch.
4. Wear the jeans until they have dried completely. This step is crucial because if you take them off when they're still wet, some Polo jeans could shrink back to their original size. If you take them off after they have dried, they should be an inch bigger.
