Buy A Tuxedo Sash

,

A tuxedo sash is a style of cummerbund that can be worn by men or women as part of a formal outfit. Usually, the sash is worn as a belt to accentuate the waist or cover the waistline of skirts or pants. When trying to buy one, you should search formal wear stores, department stores and thrift shops for a good selection.

Instructions

1. Buy a tuxedo sash that fits you correctly. Most men's sashes are adjustable and should be worn slightly loose. Women's sashes are worn more like belts and should be almost form fitting. If the sash slides around too much, you may need to drop to a smaller size. Women may even need to try a boy's size.

2. Try to find a traditional black silk sash to wear with almost any outfit. While quite basic, a simple black tuxedo sash works well for both formal and informal events. Alternately, you can buy a white sash, which can also work in many settings.

3. Skip the vest if you buy a sash. You should never wear both a vest and a sash with any outfit. On the other hand, suspenders should always be worn.

4. Buy a sash with pleats for a traditional look. The cummerbund-style tuxedo sash works on both men and women. The look immediately conjures up notions of being formal. Remember, pleats are always worn facing up.

5. Avoid crazy patterns unless you wish to make huge statement. The tuxedo sash completes the overall look of a tux, so a wild pattern or design can cause quite a stir at a formal event.

6. Look for matching sash and tie sets to make sure you buy the correct color. Different fabrics and dyes can make colors appear differently. When wearing solid-colored accessories, the color should match perfectly.

Set Speed & Depth On Tattoo Machines

,

Set Speed & Depth on Tattoo Machines

A tattoo machine is the tool that allows an artist to embed a tattoo on a client. An integral part of a professional tattoo apprenticeship is learning the components of, and tune, a tattoo machine. Each artist finds and performs different settings for their personal machine, allowing the artist to feel comfortable using the machine. The type of skin the client has, along with the size or type of tattoo, determines the setting of the machine and the power supply.

Instructions

1. Plug in the power supply and attach the cord to the tattoo machine. Place the tube in the tattoo machine and insert the needle in the tube. Tap the foot pedal to ensure the machine is working.

2. Adjust the springs on the tattoo machine to control the depth. Apply pressure with the hand that holds the machine, pressing down into the skin for more depth after adjusting the springs.

3. Turn the voltage of the power supply up to adjust the speed. The more voltage, or higher setting, of the power supply equals a quicker speed. A lower speed is optimal for tattooing bony areas of the body and high speeds for fleshy parts.

The Best Clothes For Courtroom Trial

,

A shirt and tie in subdued colors is a safe bet for men.

The clothes don't always make the man, but first appearances are crucial in court. Dressing appropriately for a court appearance will show that you understand the gravity of the situation and respect your setting. Although dressing well may not necessarily alter your outcome, your appearance can drastically alter others' perception of your personality. A neatly-dressed person will appear conscientious and responsible in a courtroom setting.

Church Clothes

Dress like you're going to church. While most people don't dress extravagantly for church, looking pleasant and presentable is always the goal. Wearing expensive clothing isn't necessary for a court appearance and may even detract from your case. As long as you look respectable and modest, your clothing budget is irrelevant. Steer clear of bright colors, loud prints or attention-grabbing styles. Make sure all of your clothes are cleaned and pressed the day before your court appearance.

Cover Up

Make sure most of your body is covered up so that you appear modest and respectful. Men should always wear pants and long-sleeved, button-up shirts. Women should wear pantyhose if wearing a skirt or dress. While many people are indifferent on the matter of women's pantyhose, some ardently believe that going without is reprehensible. Women can wear short sleeves if weather permits, but never low-cut, revealing tops. As a precaution, bring a sweater. Courtrooms are often cold, and you may have to wait for several hours before your appearance.

Comfort

Wear what feels comfortable. If you never, ever wear skirts or dresses, don't start with your court appearance. The same goes for ties. Uncomfortable clothing with make you appear uncomfortable, and the judge and jury will pick up on that.

Accessories

Remove any noticeable piercings except for simple earrings on women. Jewelry should be understated and minimal. Shoes should be closed-toed and conservative. Shine your shoes to ensure they are free of scuffs before your appearance. If your pants are a bit loose, wear a belt or suspenders so that you don't look sloppy.

Grooming

If you have long hair, pull it back or wear a headband to keep it looking neat. For women who wear nail polish, opt for a neutral shade for your court appearance. Cover any tattoos with clothing if possible. Makeup should be lightly applied in natural tones. Men should be freshly-shaven with neatly trimmed mustaches and beards. If you have a tendency to perspire a lot, wear deodorant and bring a handkerchief so you appear calm and cool.

Spot Fake Lucky Brand Jeans

,

Make sure the jeans you want to buy are what the seller claims them to be.

Because of the high appeal of name-brand goods, such as Lucky Brand Jeans, there are plenty of people who will attempt to copy the real product and sell it as an original. These items are usually lower in quality but will cost the same amount or slightly less than the true product. Online sales of clothing are one of the easiest ways to get duped into purchasing fake Lucky Brand jeans. To avoid getting duped in person or on the Internet, know spot real and fake Lucky jeans.

Instructions

1. Check the inside of the zipper. Along the length of the zipper, there will be a thin label bearing the name "Lucky."

2. Examine the button over the zipper to ensure that it bears the Lucky name, as well as the trademark clover symbol.

3. Check the sizing on the tag inside of the jeans. Lucky Jeans are labeled according to waist size rather than the typical 0 to 12 sizing style. Waist sizes range from 24 to 33 inches. The size will be depicted on a small square tag.

4. Feel the fabric. It should feel fairly heavy, never thin. It should also have a soft feel because of the high-quality cotton used by Lucky. If the jeans feel scratchy, they are not true Lucky Brand. Also, take note of any shoddy workmanship, such as loose threads along the seams, as this is often a sign of a bogus product.

5. Check for the Lucky Brand patch over the right back pocket. The label should be made of a heavy material without any runs in the ink.

Male Attire Of The 1800s

,

Most 19th century gentlemen owned a top hat.

The 1800s -- or 19th century -- spans the Regency and Victorian periods, but men's clothing changed very little over the century. The Victorian era started in the 1840s, and it had the greatest influence. Overall, men's clothes during the 1800s were fairly sober in keeping with the Victorian preoccupation with industriousness.

Frock Coats

The frock coat is one of the distinguishing fashion items of the 19th century. In the early part of the century, the coat was cut away high in the front to waist level and worn unfastened to show the vest, shirt and pocket watch. The revers were wide across the chest area; at the back, the coat fell to the knees. The material was a light wool that gave the coat a soft, flowing movement. The later Victorian frock coat was the same length front and back but still had a seam at waist-height to give a fitted look. The collar was often velvet-trimmed.

Vests

Vests were a vital part of a gentleman's wardrobe. With coats being rather sober in color, a man used vests to ring the changes and express himself. Paisley patterns in silk and brocade were particularly fashionable. The paisley pattern is a feature of the Victorian period in both male and female fashion. The tear-shaped design originated in India and Persia, and the colonial British brought the pattern back. The Scottish town of Paisley became the most prolific producer of shawls with the design, resulting in the pattern being forever known as paisley. Vests usually had a single row of buttons, but double-breasted styles were also available. Some vests sported shawl collars while others were collarless or had notched collars.

Trousers

In the Regency period, trousers were very fitted and high at the waist. Because of the lack of belts and zippers, or even suspenders, they had what is called a "fall front" -- a flap on the front of the trousers buttons up with three buttons on either side. A Victorian gentleman's trousers were also cut very high on the waist, but were held up by suspenders. Trousers had a button fly and the waistband had buttons to attach the suspenders. Striped wool and checked cloth were popular.

Accessories

Gentlemen didn't go out anywhere without a hat. Top hats and Derby hats were the most popular, although a man might ring the changes with a coachman hat that has part of the styling of a top hat without being quite so formal. Neckwear was confined to cravats, ascots and bow ties. Again, the paisley pattern was favored for these items. Pocket watches and vests were made for each other, and many men took pride in displaying the chain that anchors the watch to his vest pocket. Gloves were commonly worn, and many outfits were finished with a walking stick or cane with an ornate handle.

Choose Clothes For Jazz Dancing

,

Choose Clothes for Jazz Dancing

When you get ready to choose your clothes for jazz dancing or your jazz class, you can't just show up in your jeans and flip flops. Jazz dancing is a workout, so you have to dress the part.

Instructions

1. Ask the instructor or dance director for a list of required attire for your jazz dance classes, so that you do not buy clothing that you will not be able to wear. Some instructors may be very strict about the colors, materials, brands and styles that they accept as attire for jazz in their class. Many times, it gives a uniform look to the group and makes it easier to stop a dancer doing a movement incorrectly.

2. Wear clothing that stretches and gives at every angle, such as lycra or spandex. Most jazz pants are a pull-on style of stretchy pants that cling to the dancer's body. Wear the jazz pants over a leotard or tight form-fitting top.

3. Cover your dance attire with layers of dance sweaters, leggings or wraps. The leggings are actually a dance thing and not an "80s" thing. The purpose of these coverings is to warm up the dancer's body and muscles. It's very important to keep the muscles warm to avoid injuries while jazz dancing.

4. Walk into the dance studio or theatre in your street shoes and then change to your dance shoes. Do not wear your dance shoes on the street. Jazz dancing shoe styles will depend upon instructor requirements to personal preference. A standard jazz shoe is a soft leather shoe with a soft flexible sole. Styles will vary with split soles, slip-on or lace-up. Some selections of jazz shoes resemble a soft sole sneaker.
