As with last fall's debut season, the springtime selection is all about modern reinterpretations of traditional leather jackets, from motorbike jackets to bombers to baseball jackets. And as with last year, designer Louis Wong definitely nails it with thin suits, modified proportions, and high-end materials that make these items just as wearable as they are fashionable. Once factors throw out enough for you to keep the topcoats and parkas at home, you'll want to achieve for one of these fairly much every day.

Louis W. Spring/Summer 2013

The Differences Between Slim Fit & Normal Men'S Tshirts
The man on the far left has a normal cut, while the man in the middle has a slim fit shirt.
T-shirts refer to short-sleeved shirts of a simple four-piece design with a front, two single-piece sleeves and a back. In most cases they lack a collar and have knit finishing at the neck. T-shirts are typically made from knit fabrics, which makes them elastic, and they originated as undershirts but are now used as casual outwear. The "cut" or fit of the shirt, whether slim or normal, refers to how closely it follows the contour of the body.
Sizing and Fit
Despite attempts for standardization, garment manufacturers generally follow their own rules for sizing and fit. Typical T-shirt sizes like small, medium and large are used as relative measurements in respect to each other, making no size or cut a universal description of garments in that category. Furthermore, different companies use different fit models who reflect the target demographic of the clothing line. Sportswear brands will use an individual with a high level of fitness whereas a brand targeting teenagers will base their cut on the build of the average teenage boy. Manufacturers also take into account the current fashions and local tastes.
Sizing on a Slim Fit
Slim-fit shirts assume a wedge-shaped body type and typically include a 2- to 3-inch clearance at the waistline. They sometimes are cut so the shoulder seam or "yoke" of the shirt extends past the shoulders and onto the upper arm. As sizing is arbitrary, the sliminess of the cut may simply refer to how slim a fit is in respect to other shirts manufactured in that clothing line or for that brand.
Sizing on a Normal Fit
Normal-fit T-shirts assume a box-shaped figure, with about 3 inches more fabric allowance than slim cut for that line and little tapering at the waist. Shirts will hang straight from armpit to hip and are cut with the assumption that all parts of the arm and torso are proportionate, and the end of the shoulder seam should sit on the shoulder. Because of rising obesity levels in the U.S., shirts may be sold with additional clearance around the stomach area to prevent gaping or belling out around the stomach.
Choosing a Fit by Body Type, Temperature and Activity Level
Slim or muscular men are most flattered by slim-fit T-shirts, while men of other builds are better suited to a normal cut. Men with broad shoulders are especially flattered by slim-fit shirts because the extra looseness at the waist in a normal fit will make the man appear shapeless and soft in the stomach. If the shirt is to be worn in hot areas or during heavy activity, a normal-fit T-shirt provides better ventilation and range of movement.

Start A Wedding Rental Business
Wedding
A wedding rental business can be relatively easy to start as a home business. You can start very small or begin large scale. There is always a good demand for wedding rentals.
Instructions
1. Think of the area of wedding rentals you want to begin with. I actually had a friend who rented his classic car to brides and grooms for the evening. Backdrops, garden arches, trifold room dividers, and table cloths with various center pieces is a great beginning. Other areas you can diversify into are plates and place settings, chocolate fountains, punch bowls, wedding dress rentals even rental of outdoor canopy tents.
2. Contact a few wedding rental businesses in your area to see what services they offer and what they charge. Some items will rent for about 5% of the cost like a nice wedding backdrop. Other items like glass plates can be purchased in bulk for close to what they rent for each time. My friend who has a wedding rental business bought several hundred nice glass dinner plates for $1.10 each. He rents them for $1.25 each including washing them after. Two wedding rentals for large dinners paid for every plate he bought. Research your competition. If you can not find any competitors in your area it is probably a good place to do start wedding rentals. If you have lots of competitors seek out a niche that is not well serviced. Every area has couples getting married. It is a good full time or part time business opportunity. In Wyoming I attended a wedding where they had rented 25 hay bales at $1.00 each from a local rancher to decorate a cowboy wedding.
3. Register in your city and or state as a business so you can buy wedding rental items wholesale and free from state sales tax. Buy the wedding items and begin getting the word out to all you know. Bridal trade shows are a great place when you get a bit larger. Local college campus newspapers near the end or school or before Christmas break are a good place and time to advertise locally. Find related small businesses and trade client leads. You may work out a two way referral payment for related small businesses. Some of these are catering services, wedding photographers, wedding cake bakers, local jewelers, wedding dress makers, tuxedo rental businesses, wedding invitations printers and so on. Any business targeting the same brides and grooms you are but not directly competitive is a great candidate for a strategic marketing alliance that will benefit you both.
4. Think storage and transportation of large items like backdrops. A small enclosed trailer is a good investment. You may want to rent a storage unit so the wedding business is not overtaking your house and garage.

Tie The Converse Double Upper Ox
The straight lacing technique produces a series of parallel lines running across the top of your shoe.
Converse's Double Upper Ox, like its name suggests, has two uppers. In shoe construction, an upper is the part of the shoe that is attached to the sole, or bottom. Typically, the two uppers in the Converse shoe come in contrasting, customizable colors. Each of these uppers contains a set of eyelets, holes through which you pass your shoelaces. The shoelace colors correspond to the colors of the uppers. Because there are two shoelaces and two sets on eyelets on each shoe, there are numerous ways to lace and tie these shoes. The method described here uses the straight lacing technique in a way to highlight the complementary colors of this unique shoe.
Instructions
1. Place your shoe directly in front of you, with the heel of the shoe closest to your body. Take the shoelace with the same color as the the inner set of eyelets. For example, if your shoe's inner eyelets are placed on white canvas, choose the white shoelaces. Pass the ends the shoelace down through the eyelets of the interior layer of the shoe, starting with the eyelets farthest away from you. Pull the ends of the shoelace so that the right-hand side is the same length as the left-hand side.
2. Take the right-hand side of the shoelace. Pass this end of the shoelace upward through the eyelet directly below the starting position. Guide the shoelace horizontally across the shoe and thread it downward through the eyelet on the left. Run this same shoelace upward through the eyelet two spaces down. There should be one empty eyelet. Then, pull the shoelace horizontally and thread it downward through the corresponding eyelet on the right-hand side of the shoe. Continue this process with the same end of the shoelace until you reach the last set of eyelets. On the right-hand side of the shoe, use successive eyelets. On the left-hand side, skip an eyelet.
3. Take the unused end of the shoelace. Pass it upward through the first empty eyelet on the left-hand side of the shoe. Using the empty eyelets as a guide, repeat the path of the first side of the shoelace using successive eyelets on the left-hand side of the shoe and skipping an eyelet on the right-hand side.
4. Put your foot in your shoe and adjust the tension of the shoelace so that your shoe feels comfortable on your foot. Remove your shoe and place it in front of you with the heel of the shoe closest to your body.
5. Take the different-colored shoelace and thread each end downward through the exterior set of eyelets farthest from you. Repeat the same process that you used for the first shoelace. Then repeat the entire process with the other shoe.
6. Place both shoes on your feet. To tie your shoes, take both shoelaces on the right-hand side of the shoe in your right hand and both shoelaces on the left-hand side of the shoe in your left hand. Tie your shoes with a standard bow.

Dress Like Victoria Silvstedt
Dress Like Victoria Silvstedt
Professional skier-turned-supermodel Victoria Silvstedt has come a long way from her native Sweden. Although a leg break in her teens put an end to her career as a skier, it wasn't all downhill from there. Victoria Silvstedt went on to represent her homeland in Miss World, modeled for Playboy and has hosted both TV and radio shows. By following a few fashion tips, you, too, can get Silvstedt's star style.
Instructions
1. Wear pale pastels. Victoria will often dress in pale pink, purple, blue and yellow. Light colors look feminine on Victoria, and also emphasize her year-round golden glow.
2. Opt for empire waists. Victoria wears lots of empire-waist tops and dresses. Whether they're low-cut or straight across, they're always fitted around the bust and sometimes looser around the waist and hips.
3. Get girlie in dresses. Perhaps because of her modeling background, Victoria isn't a jeans and t-shirt type of girl. She most often wears dresses in light, flirty fabrics that are either above the knee or to the floor, but rarely in between.
4. Slip into satin. Although many would consider satin a most unforgiving fabric, Victoria isn't afraid to wear a satin dress or top, which hugs her every curve.
5. Show cleavage. A former Playboy model, Victoria loves to show-off her largest assets. This works well for her current endeavors in her own lingerie line, which she launched in 2006 during London Fashion Week.
6. Keep accessories to a minimum. Victoria rarely wears bold jewelry, if any. Instead, she'll rock a dress or shirt with sequins, beads or another type of detailing that catches the eye.
7. Attend fashion shows. Victoria can be seen at shows for Baby Phat, Victoria's Secret and Fashion Rocks, where she shows off her current style and picks up tips for future outfits.
