Wear Fashion Trends For Winter

,

Try funky dresses with flare (go for fun textures and shapes).

Winter fashion is overflowing with bold trends, feminine dresses and androgynous accessories. Between the ornate fabrics (like leather and lace) and funky shoes, the style trends are heating up as the temperature drops.

Instructions

1. Remember that a wide range of winter trends are not meant to leave fashion week. Unless walking the runway in Milan, it’s important to realize that the average (albeit fashionable) denizen is not meant to don extravagant, impractical trends in their daily lives. Instead, try to adapt 3 to 4 trends each year that truly fit your lifestyle, personality and body shape.

2. Play with fabrics this winter season. Garments made from plaid are incredibly fashionable, so try choosing simple shift dresses, longer coats or accessories created from subdued color palettes. Look for delicate tops, tunics or cocktail dresses that use lace as accents, or choose exotic touches like snake-skin bags and point-toe heels.

3. Do not be shocked by the abundance of florals this season (even if typically designated for spring or fall). Try reusing your floral dresses from the past, but make them modern with thick, structured jackets, boots cut to the ankle or layered cardigan sweaters.

4. Enjoy playing with size and shape this season. Try wearing skinny, ankle cropped jeans one day, while choosing oversized boyfriend denim the next. Dresses are both sleek (look for lustrous and jewel toned varieties) and blousy (continue layering over funky leggings and boots, or pair with large thick sweaters).

5. Have fun accessorizing this year, and don’t worry about a heavy hand. Runways for winter are overflowing with cropped ankle boots, slouched riding boots, and large, chunky jewelry. Try layering multiple necklaces with simple clothing, or donning overtly feminine jewels with menswear inspired outfits.
