Different Cyma Style Watches

,

Cyma watches are offered in sports, classic, dress and ladies' styles. Styles include the Signature, Navy Star, Nineteen Forty and Dominator series watches. Cyma is considered a luxury watch with prices ranging from $400 up to about $18,000. Cyma produces primarily quartz-powered watches, but a limited number of timepieces also feature automatic mechanical movements. Cymas purchased from authorized dealers have a lifetime warranty.

Signature Series

Cyma Signature Series watches feature ladies' high-end luxury bracelet watches with 18-karat gold, diamond dial and bezel, a black or white dial and a Swiss movement. The series also features a screw-down crown and case back, sapphire crystal and water resistance to 165 feet. Although men's Signature series Cymas are offered, the style appeals to women buyers. Some Signature models feature 14k gold cases and mother-of-pearl dials.

Navy Star Series

The Navy Star series is a long-running style by Cyma that has evolved from a men's dress watch in the 1950s and 1960s to an outdoor dive watch. The Navy Star usually features a stainless steel and 18-karat gold-plated case, rotating unidirectional bezel, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown and case back, luminous dial, water resistance to 330 feet, calendar and quartz movement. One version features an orange dial and carbon fiber strap.

Dominator

The Cyma Dominator is a limited edition high-end watch that features a black, tan or brown dial with each model limited to just 200 watches. Each watch is engraved with an automatic chronometer movement number on the case back. The model also includes the classic-style cream color tank dial and sub-dial second hand.

Nineteen-Forty

The Nineteen-Forty Series is Cyma's homage to its 1940s watch styles equipped with the automatic chronometer or quartz movement. These watches feature a case back exhibition window to view the automatic movement and dial and case characteristics of its 1940s model line.

Vintage Cymas

Cyma has been producing watches since 1891. Tavannes movements were used in Cymas until 1966. Cymas produced in 1966 and before are coveted by collectors or wearers who prefer a clean, classic look with a manual winding mechanical movement. The appeal of vintage 1950s and 1960s Cymas is that the style remains contemporary. The Navy Star "autorotor," for example, is a Cyma automatic that looks strikingly similar to many of today's Cyma offerings but at a fraction of the price. A well-maintained Cyma keeps excellent time, but like all old watches, it's not necessarily water resistant. Vintage watches are smaller in diameter compared to today's models. Older Cyma dials average between 33 mm and 36 mm, while contemporary models can measure over 40 mm.
