Money Saving Beauty Tips

,

We women want to look as good as we can for as long as we can. I think it's pretty much a universal goal for most of us and yet with the very difficult economy we're all trying to wade through, it is making that goal ever harder to reach. For many, the days of getting bi-monthly pedicures and manicures are a thing of the past. Millions of Americans are finding that there just isn't money for the things that aren't absolute necessities.

Trying to look attractive may not be an absolute necessity but it's pretty darn important for a lot of people. This fact is evident by the amount of money (in the billions) that is spent each year on beauty products and procedures. Very likely this years' numbers will be down a great deal due to the decreased disposable income many are dealing with.

Perhaps we can't continue to spend as much money on beauty maintenance and enhancement as we have in the past but that doesn't mean we have to give it up entirely.

Maybe we'll just have to go about it in a different way. For instance, many of the treatments that we pay good money for can just as well be given by a family member or a good friend or sometimes we can do them ourselves. Many of us love having a regular manicure and that is something that wouldn't be all that easy to do for ourselves. We'd be fine working with our dominant hand but when it came time to use the weaker one we'd be out of luck. For this reason it would a good (and fun) idea to get together with a friend for the purpose of giving each other a manicure. Besides an end result of having our hands and nails look good, it would also give us time to spend with a good friend, which by the way is just as important as trying to maintain our beauty rituals.

Many of us enjoy getting our hair trimmed and styled at a salon on a regular schedule and while that is definitely a pleasure it has also become a luxury that many have had to give up. Because most of us are not trained to cut hair, we will still have to find a way to get the occasional professional cut, but we can spread those visits out and in the meantime we can either make do or we can trim it a bit ourselves or have a friend help with a minor trim.

As for hair coloring, products have become available at local drugstores and supermarkets that make it relatively easy to get the job done without the service of a professional. Many women already tend to their own hair coloring and some enlist the aid of a family member of friend. Again, this is something that could be a trade off with a friend. One week you could arrange to do the coloring for a friend and the next week she could do yours for you. Many times you can get by with just a root touch up which will allow you to be able to go for a much longer time before needing a full color session.

Facials are a special treat but they are also rather pricey, so again, this is something that one can handle on their own at their own home. There are wonderful products available that will provide results that you'll be pleased with. Even though we may be a cash crunch presently, we can still accomplish the things that are important to us. We just need to look for ingenious and inexpensive ways to achieve our goals.

Men's Fashion Tips For A First Date

,
Going out on a date with a woman you just met means only one thing. You need to get dressed in order to impress. Thankfully, today's fashion trends have made it possible for men to mix and match their outfits without turning them into a fashion victim.

Women love their men to be fashionable and trendy. In fact, most girls want their dates to stand out in a crowd looking very much like a dazzling debonair. However, you also need to consider the kinds of place where you will be bringing your date. Places like fancy restaurants and hotels follow a certain dress code. Of course, you do not want to dress up elegantly in a suit while watching a rock concert. In which case, you have to plan ahead where you want to take your date and choose the right outfit that will go with it.

Regardless where you are bringing your date, shirts with holes or stains are a real turn off. A dating place which requires you to look casual and sporty must also need a pair of jeans which must be worn wrinkle free and should fit you to a T. Even the belts must also be properly buckled and not in some place that is inappropriate.

If you are bringing your date out on a dinner to some swanky hotel, a theatre or a ballet performance, a suit is indeed a must. Well, any suit of a dark hue is a perfect complement to a romantic date. The suit must also fit you well and something you feel comfortable of wearing. A plain colored shirt matched with a contrasting tie will complete your ensemble.

A pair of brown or khaki pants matched with a white polo or button down top will make you look trendy if you are bringing your date in a restaurant for a wonderful casual dining experience. Also, one will definitely look smarter in a cotton top and beige slacks. They key to getting that desired look is by simply limiting to only two the colors of your over all get up.

In as far as footwear is concerned, wear yours in a neutral color such as black or brown. Sneakers and loafers are acceptable too for as long as they are spotlessly clean. Black or brown leather shoes must also be polished to perfection.

If you are out on a date for the first time, avoid wearing too many accessories. All those bling-blings and rubber bracelets must be kept for the night. While it is true that men do not wear jewelry, there are excellent pieces that you can invest on.

No matter how fashionable you are, chances are you might lose your date if you do not come properly shaven or well groomed. Choosing your kind of fashion is a personal choice. However, you also need to look good and presentable. Thus, impressing your hot date is a huge success if you get complimented by the way you look and how well you can carry yourself.

Mens Fashion Tips And Men's Rings

,
Rings have been a fashion accessory for men since their first creation about 5,000 years ago. They were first used as a symbol of union between a man and a woman in marriage to bind them together. Since that time men's rings have taken on a number of different characteristics, including some that have become a caricature of themselves.

An example of this is the pinky ring, that was adapted by Italian-Americans as a status symbol and become popularized through the movies. Another example is the over-sized ring worn by black pimps to show that they made it and they have control over their world. Other rings that have symbolism for men are the school rings, that are a right of passage for graduation from high school and college.

In that same line are the Super Bowl rings that are a trophy ring cherished by football players in the USA who win the ultimate football championship. Men's rings are a symbol of power, prestige, or achievement. As wedding rings they are a symbol of commitment. Men's rings can also be a choice of fashion. The choices are diverse and wonderful to explore.

There are men's rings for all four fingers and the thumb. However, unless you are the Grand Pooh-Bah or the Sultan of Arabia, we do not recommend you wear a ring on all fingers of the hand. That is reserved for times long lost. You can wear a ring on one (maybe two) fingers of each hand depending on why you wear them, what they symbolize, and whether they go together or not. If your ring finger is reserved on your right had for your wedding ring or your school ring if you are not yet married, then you still have your left hand to consider.

You might be able to carry off an extra ring on each hand depending on how it looks and what you do for your profession. If you hang on in the streets and make your money of the nearest street corner then feel free to adorn yourself with as many rings as possible. But for the average man, one ring per hand is probably the best fashion mode you can present.

We used to add a pinky ring as an option, yet it congers up images of the Italian Mafia and so forth which seem inappropriate for people who do not live in New Jersey or New York. The most current fashion advice is , the right-hand ring-finger is reserved for either a wedding ring (please make sure you pay enough to have a matched set of rings with your bride).

If not married use the school ring from high school, if you did not yet graduate college. Use your college ring instead if you did graduate university and use the Super Bowl ring instead of that if you happen to be a sports super star.

On your left-hand ring-finger this is the place where you are allowed the most personal expression of fashion, so pick a ring that means the most to you, whether it is an ostentatious gold diamond ring or a biker's skull ring, whatever turns you on, that is where you can wear it, and wear it proudly.

Bridal Beauty Tips

,

It's your day; no wonder you want to look stunning. And with a little effort, you can. Everything on your wish list, from Gisele Bündchen-style hair to an even complexion, can be achieved with fine-tuned regiments begun weeks before you walk down the aisle or with a bit of wizardry at the final hour. Either way, you'll carry your exquisite look straight through the night (if not well into your honeymoon). Thanks to Tequila, who working for www.dressesshop.com - the USA high quality dresses shop, got lots experiences about this position. Here the pros offer both strategies for addressing every bride's top concerns.

Trouble spot: Short or sparse eyelashes.

Long-haul fix: Extensions transform plain-Jane eyelashes into screen siren standouts without a smidgen of mascara – a huge benefit for potentially teary brides.

The one-to-three-hour procedure demands a delicate touch: an expert aesthetician attaches synthetic lashes one by one to your upper lashes with a safe, longlasting adhesive. Your real eyelashes have a sixty-to-ninety-day life span, and the false ones are shed along with them. So schedule a session with your aesthetician for about three days before your wedding. Since you'll be lying on a massage table with your eyes closed the entire time, you will probably find it a welcome break. Prolonged use of extension lashes can damage your natural ones. While you'll be tempted to go in for a touch-up two to three weeks later, unless you actually are a screen siren it's best to let the lashes fall off or have them removed by a professional.

Shortcut: "On brides, I always add black individual temporary false lashes, whether eight or just two," says Lancome makeup artist Sandy Linter. The extra fullness makes light-colored eyes pop and intensifies brown or hazel irises, she explains. Despite their name, the individual lashes actually come in small, subtle clusters known as flares, but unlike tricky full-strip falsies, they can be trusted to stay put. Linter glues the flares on last so that they don't interfere with her application of eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara. Then, to camouflage the faux lashes, she blends them in with a second round of the mascara, specifically a lightweight formula.

Trouble spot: Limp hair.

Long-haul fix: Hair extensions don't just cater to Hollywood's trendy fixation with long locks. They're a bride's best strategy for dodging a bad hair day. In a Great Lengths application, a stylist begins by adhering about six bundles of human hair, which start at eight inches in length, to your own strands. If you want to turn your bob into a mass of curls (as Katie Holmes did earlier this year), you may need up to 300 extension attachments, which, once applied, are but to blend naturally into your own hairstyle. You can go for a fuller look without adding length, but after the bundles are attached, clients usually can't resist adding at least a few inches, says Marc Mena, senior stylist at New York's Warren-Tricomi salon. The protein polymer bonds, which look like the plastic nubs at the ends of shoelaces, are strategically placed to conceal attachment sites, so you can wear your hair up, too.

Shortcut: "I use some kind of hair extension with 95 percent of my bridal clients," Mena says. Temporary clip-in extensions, also made of human hair, take mere minutes for a professional to insert. "Two pieces on each side and three on the black of the head help hold all styles," a boon to hair that always loses its curl, according to Mena. Unlike bonded extensions, temporaries can be reused for future events. For brides who prefer to stick with their own hair, a chignon or a half-up-half-down do can create fullness at the crown.

Trouble spot: Diffuse facial redness.

Long-haul fix: Soothing ingredients can reduce redness, but before starting a regimen, see your dermatologist to rule out rosacea, which affects more than fourteen million Americans. An oral antibiotic or a prescription gel, such as Finacea, alleviates the acnelike bumps present in some cases of rosacea, but to control fushing, one of the condition's common symptoms, you have to reduce the number of blood vessels in the area where you see a reaction. A pulsed-dye laser (a good solution as well for run-of-the-mill broken capillaries) or intense pulsed-light therapy heats the vessels and induces your body to seal them off. While each treatment takes only five to fifteen minutes, depending on the extent of redness, you may have to wait one or two months to see its full effect: a 25 to 35 percent reduction in redness. The results are cumulative – a second session pushes that percentage to between 50 and 70 percent – so the expert suggests that you have two to three treatments spaced about six weeks apart.

Shortcut: Your makeup artist should always apply makeup with a small concealing brush, never with her fingers, advises Linter, since pressure on facial skin may irritate it further. A green-toned product masks redness, but less is more here. "Thick layers of product will crack and look ugly," Pro warns. She recommends then applying an oil-free base; a cover-up for problem areas; and a dusting of powder.

Trouble spot: Uneven complexion.

Long-haul fix: A Q-switched infrared laser destroys the culprit, melanin, which causes small brown spots, like lentigo and freckles. But the laser is not as effective with diffuse discoloration; it won't eradicate the brown patches known as melasma or a chest full of congregated freckles. Your first step in those cases is a better skin-care routine, with either an over-the-counter lightener, like kojic acid, or a prescription cream. Your dermatologist will probably suggest chemical peels, too, from mild, at-home varieties to the in-office trichloroacetic adic (TCA) type. Whichever approach you choose, wear sunblock every day, or you'll never get rid of the hyperpigmentation. Last resort, though, does not mean last-minute: some deeper, more aggressive peels and lasers must be done three or four months before your wedding in case there are side effects (which may include blistering) and your skin needs time to recover.

Shortcut: The best cover-up for dark spots is a dense, noncreamy concealer that won't slide or move. When you choose the concealer, be sure the cover-up is matte. Anything with light-reflecting particles will attract attention to imperfections – a misstep you can easily make if you use your undereye concealer elsewhere on your face.

Trouble spot: Dull teeth.

Long-haul fix: Against a crisp white dress, your teeth can take on the dowdy tone of yellowed linen. The quickest way to a brighter smile is power bleaching, which employs a hydrogen-peroxide solution activated by a high-intensity light. Ask whether your dentist offers a whitening system. For the best results, use power bleaching four weeks before your wedding and then pair it with at-home trays. Over-the-counter options, like Crest White Strips, are also effective but don't deliver the same results.

Shortcut: A lot of teeth look darker than they actually are, because of surface stains. Blend baking soda and hydrogen peroxide into a toothpastelike consistency, and brush for two minutes. Then avoid peach and coral lip colors, which highlight yellow tones. Instead, bring out your whites with a pink or berry shade.

Fashion Tips for Shoes

,

Many women wonder how to wear their shoes in a fashionable way, indeed, with all the trends and fashions to choose from, it is sometimes easy to get lost in the vast array of choices and end up making tragic fashion mistakes. In this article, the aim is to discuss some general issues that women have when it comes to footwear fashion.

How to wear sandals: The first thing to consider when wearing sandals is the attractiveness of your feet – you need to make sure you don't have cracked heels, easily solved with creams available at your local supermarket. Ensure your nails are clean and well kept – a pedicure is the perfect solution here.
How to wear Espadrilles : these shoes are coming back into fashion, so it is essential to understand the kind of look they suit. They are informal shoes, so need to be worn with casual clothing. They look great with a pair of skinny jeans, or when teamed with a short skirt.
What shoes to wear to the office: this is a complicated issue, you want to look fashionable, but you need to be careful not to cross over into the unacceptable. Choose either a shoe with a bright colour, or a shoe with plenty of flourish (such as bows, laces, buckles, frills, tassels ...), but never opt for a shoe with both – doing so will draw too much attention, one or the other provides a nice balance. Alternatively, you can opt for a more conventional, yet fashionable shoe, such as brogues, court shoes, or loafers – all of which are highly fashionable, yet understated, perfect for a professional occupation.
What shoes look best with miniskirts: There are several shoes well suited to the mini-skirt; ballerina pumps are fantastic, as are most types of flat shoe, stiletto heels are also a great choice. Women's shoes to avoid are certain types of boots, particularly ugg-style boots.
Shoes that make you look slim: the stiletto heel is the best means to achieving a nice figure without doing any work beyond putting them on. They elongate the leg, tighten the bottom, and reduce the appearance of chunky legs and thighs. They are probably the most flattering style of women's shoes, but not so if you are not able to walk in them. If you have never worn stilettos before, make sure that you practice before going out in public! Any type of heel though, will help to slim the thighs and calves, the higher the better, but even a short heel helps.
Fashionable shoes that are also comfortable: a balance between comfort and fashion can sometimes be hard to strike. There are ranges of shoes that can achieve just this though, flats, such as loafers and ballet pumps are great. Alternatively, you can try a pair of fur-lined boots or cowboy boots with a slight heel. When it comes to walking comfortably in heels, this needs practice and takes time for your legs to adjust, but once you have worn heels for a while, they do become comfortable. But of course, the greatest shoe for comfort and style are slippers...but you shouldn't wear these outside the house!

Fashion Show Organizing Tips

,

Organizing a fashion show is one of a challenging task. It needs team work where it involves many people's co-operation and co-ordination. Whether your fashion show is to be a simple fundraiser or an elaborate fashion extravaganza you will have to work hard to achieve proud tears and rounds of applause. Choice of lighting, location and music are important elements of the production process.

Organizing a fashion show means selecting and inviting a suitable judge, selecting models and new fashioned apparels that suit them, selecting a theme and getting the hall, wall and floor done accordingly, choosing a place or a hall that has a ramp, selecting music, inviting the press and photographers, selling tickets, and the list goes on and on.

Do you want to keep it on a local level or go big? In either case, prepare yourself for a little begging as well as negotiating and you had better be organized or be good at it.

Get yourself a land line because your cell phone bill is going to be outrageous if you don't have a plan. Factor in your fuel consumption as you will no doubt be doing a lot of traveling.

Theme also plays a role in this. The environment should ideally reflect the central theme of the clothing line you are featuring. This can be achieved with props and decor as well as through the location itself. The wrong venue can kill a show.

The judge for the fashion show needs to be someone famous and also should have idea about the recent trends in fashion. The audience are more fascinated about the one who presides the show as well. There should be a minimum of 3 judges to judge a particular show so that the final results are not biased. Judges should be invited at-least a month prior to the day of the show.

Make sure the judges are warmly welcomed and are escorted to their seats by the ushers.

Models should be selected with care so that they merge with the theme and the clothes or any fashionables they display. The make up man should also be invited to dress up the models and make them presentable on time. The models and the make up man are free to select the clothes and costumes that suit them. The theme is usually selected depending on the clothes that are to be show cased.

Thus with team work & good planning, fashion shows can be organized and populated.
