A tuxedo shirt is one of the most famous menswear pieces. Your tuxedo should look perfect and that starts with a fitted shirt. Don't wait until a week before the wedding and guess at your size. Learn to measure yourself properly and accurately so you look fantastic.
Instructions
1. Measure around the fullest part of the neck with the measuring tape. Add 1/2 inch to measurement. This determines the neck measurement of the shirt.
2. Place the measuring tape at the center of the collar. Work the measuring tape across the back, down the arm and ending at the crease in the wrist. This will determine sleeve length for the tuxedo shirt.
3. Place the measurement tape around the chest, going under the arms. Let arms hang at sides. This will give you the chest measurement.
4. Wrap the measuring tape around the arm to get the overarm measurement. This measurement will make sure the arms fit nicely in the shirt, not too loose but not too snug.
5. Place the measuring tape around waist, at navel level. Pull it snug so the shirt will fit well and not be baggy. This will give you the waist measurement.
